Agenore
   Figlio di Poseidone e di Libia (re di Tiro), marito di Tefassa e padre di Cadmo, Fenice, Cilice e Europa. Quando Zeus rapì Europa (sotto forma di Toro) Agenore mandò i rimanenti figli alla ricerca della sorella con l'imposizione di non fare ritorno a mani vuote. Essendo stata infruttuosa la ricerca in quanto Zeus aveva condotto la ragazza a Creta, i fratelli non osarono fare ritorno. Cilice e Fenice si stabilirono nelle regioni che presero il loro nome mentre Cadmo fondò Tebe. Altro Agenore era figlio di un principe troiano (Antènore). Valoroso guerriero, disputò pure con Achille. Fu ucciso da Neottòlemo.
